Q. Is the house easy to locate?
A. Yes, and detailed directions will be provided on receipt of final security deposit.
Q. Is the house suitable for wheelchair users?
A. Unfortunately there are a number of steps both inside and outside the property which would sadly make the property unsuitable for wheelchair users.
Q. Do babies and infants count within the total permissible number of guests?
A. No babies and infants under two years are welcome additions but would be required to sleep within the six bedrooms of the property. Parents wishing to bring children can take advantage of free travel cot and high chair available upon request.
Q. What is provided by way of linen, towels etc?
A. All beds are made up prior to arrival, with two pillows, duvets. Each guest will in addition receive a bath towel and hand towel. Washing facilities are available at the property for guests to launder towels during there stay if required. Tea towels are also provided in the kitchen along with dish cloths.
Q What basic items should we bring with us?
A. A full kitchen invetory will be supplied on receipt of your final balance. For your convenience The Birches will be stocked in advance with essential consumables, including loo roll in each lavatory, hand wash, bin liners, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets. The larder will be stocked with basic essentials. The property lies 1/2 miles from the nearest Waitrose supplying all essential grocery items for your stay. However the property is also in the catchment area for grocery deliveries via Asda....if by prior arrangement only you would like to order your food for delivery...then we can accept the order for you during 10.00am - 12.00 on the morning of your arrival.
Q Can we invite visitors over for a meal during our stay?
A. Cetainly, but for security reasons please give advanced notice of the number of guests staying overnight as this must not exceed fourteen.
Q.What cleaning / housekeeping / garden maintenance will take place?
A. The house will be cleaned prior to your arrival and thereafter each week therefore we request you leave the house no later than 10.00am on your day of departure, for guests staying for longer than 1 week (a suitable cleaning day can be arranged). We request that all guests leave the property in the condition that they found it ie kitchen crockery cleaned and put away etc. A vacuum and basic cleaning materials will be provided for your stay. The gardens will be maintained once a week weather permitting.
Q. What is policy on smoking?
A. The house is strictly No Smoking
Q. Do you allow pets?
A. As a rule we do allow pets but these are by prior arrangement only and subject to conditions within the house. Please contact the manager prior to making a booking if you require to bring pets with you.
Q. Can you recommend a local caterer for special occasions?
A. We can provide a list of local business that offer catering services.
Q. Can we secure the house if we go out for the day?
A. As part of your booking conditions we require you to secure the property with the monitored security systems, on leaving the property empty. This is a state of the art systems linking directly to the police and fire brigade. The manager will provide you with full instructions on the setting of this system upon your arrival.
Q. Is there a telephone in the house?
A. We do not offer a telephone in the property at the moment, however internet connection is offered and mobile reception is good in the area.
Q. Is there a TV/DVD player , radio or CD player?
A. There is a TV/DVD player in the main lower ground floor lounge, and the ground floor lounge, in addition to this we have a 42" plasma in the kitchen area with a link to the sky system (and all important sky sports) All the bedrooms have tv/dvd players and all but 2 bedrooms have sky access.
Q. What is the sky package?
A. The property is subscribed to Sky Sports and all the 6 mixes ie UK Gold, Documentaries etc.....the only channels we have not subscribed to are the Movies and Setenta Sports.
Q Is there ample car parking spaces?
A. There is car parking for at least seven cars within the driveway of the property, these areas are split into a section at the top of the drive (but away from the road) and the area immediately in front of the house.
